Lake Oswego, West Linn and Oregon City voters who still haven't received their Nov. 3 general election ballot should contact Clackamas County Elections, the county said Thursday, Oct. 22.
The county mailed ballots to eligible voters across Clackamas County on Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to a county press release. Voters whose ballots have not arrived by mail as of Oct. 22 are urged to check their ballot status, make any needed registration updates and request a replacement.
"Don't wait until the last minute - ensure you receive your ballot by following up with our office as soon as you can," County Clerk Catherine McMullen said in the release.
Voters can reach the elections office by email at [email protected] or by phone at 503-655-8510. Replacement ballots can also be requested online through the county's ballot request form.
Two staffed locations open
Two voter service locations are staffed by sworn election officials. Both can handle replacement ballots, registration updates, disability and language assistance, and in-person voting.
The Happy Valley Vote Center is inside the Happy Valley Library at 13793 SE Sieben Park Way. It opened Oct. 19 and will remain open through Election Day, Nov. 3. In an Oct. 19 announcement, the county said the pop-up center provides a closer option for voters in Happy Valley, Sandy, Damascus and other northeast communities.
The Clackamas County Elections Office at the Oregon City Red Soils Campus, 1710 Red Soils Ct., Suite 100, is open year-round.
Both locations are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will also be open Saturday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Returning your ballot
The county recommends dropping off completed ballots at one of 26 official ballot drop sites as soon as possible. Voters who choose to mail their ballot should send it no later than Tuesday, Oct. 27, one week before Election Day. All ballots must be postmarked or dropped off by 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
Voters who make a mistake on their ballot can correct it by crossing off the unwanted choice and circling the preferred one. If the ballot can't be corrected, a replacement can be requested.
One reminder from the county: sign the return envelope. Unsigned ballots cannot be counted, and every signature is checked against the voter's registration record on file.
Voters can sign up for the county's Track Your Ballot service to receive notifications when their ballot is received and accepted for counting.
