Every restaurant that received a scored inspection in Lake Oswego and West Linn during July earned a passing grade from Clackamas County health inspectors. Six of the seven establishments scored a perfect 100.

All passed.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit, at 4811 Meadows Rd. in Lake Oswego, was the only local restaurant inspected in July and earned a flawless 100 out of 100 on its July 18 semi-annual inspection, according to county inspection records.

In West Linn, five restaurants also hit the top mark: Subway, Dutch Bros, Burgerville at 18350 Willamette Dr., Dairy Hill Ice Cream at 19143 Willamette Dr. and Starbucks Coffee #494 at 18900 SW Willamette Drive. Burgerville's inspection took place July 16, while Dairy Hill and Starbucks were both inspected July 15.

Five Guys scored at least 90, according to the Lake Oswego Review. No West Linn restaurant scored below 90 on a semi-annual inspection.

Soku Sushi & Noodle, also on Willamette Drive, had a reinspection logged July 15 with no numeric score recorded in county data. The restaurant scored 94 in its June semi-annual inspection.

How the scoring works

Clackamas County and the Oregon Health Authority conduct unannounced inspections twice a year at all restaurants and food carts in the county. Each business starts at 100 points, with deductions for high- and moderate-risk violations. A score of 70 or above is a pass.

Julie Hamilton, Clackamas County Environmental Health program manager, explained the system in an April 2026 county podcast: "In Oregon, it's a pass/fail system. Restaurants and food carts start with a perfect score of 100 points."

Hamilton added that actual closures are exceptionally uncommon. "I can count the number of closures on one hand in my 26 years," she said in the same episode.

Inspectors focus on five high-risk areas: handwashing, working while sick, temperature control for refrigeration and cooking, food storage and sanitation, and ensuring food comes from approved sources. Seven inspectors cover the county's roughly 1,000 restaurants and 200-plus food carts.

Improvement from June

July's results mark a cleaner sweep than June, when several Lake Oswego restaurants scored in the 80s. Zaiqa earned an 89 in June, Babica Hen Cafe scored 87 and The Dullahan Irish Pub came in at 80, though all still passed. Szechuan Kitchen Chinese Restaurant fell below 80.

Residents can look up any restaurant's inspection history at healthspace.com or look for the pass/fail sticker posted near the entrance.
