Tickets for the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce's annual Downtown Wine Walk are on track to sell out, Chamber CEO Liz Hartman said, as first reported by the Lake Oswego Review.
The walk runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, starting at The Windward and continuing through 35 downtown locations. Each stop will pour two wine tastings and serve hors d'oeuvres. A shuttle will loop the route for attendees who want a lift between stops.
This year's walk features both international and local wines, with some venues paying for higher-end pours.
"We have a lot of premium wine this year," Hartman said. "Those are the locations that have paid more for a higher-scale wine."
Two new businesses are joining the lineup. The Alley, a trading card shop co-founded by Collin Love, NBA player Kevin Love, Samuel Soong and Darick Dang, opened its downtown Lake Oswego storefront on July 16. The shop is a Topps Authorized Direct Partner carrying sports cards, Pokémon cards and other collectibles. The Wine Walk will be its first time hosting tastings.
Venvino Art Studios, owned by Shannon Svaglic, is also participating. The studio is preparing to open at the former Laughing Planet location on State Street, with a target opening in November. How Venvino will host tastings before its storefront opens has not been detailed by the Chamber.
Hartman said the walk introduces attendees to businesses they may not have visited before.
Lions Capital Mortgage will serve fresh sushi from Momo Sushi during the event. The Lawrence Gallery will have live music.
The event regularly sells out, and Hartman said this year is no exception. Tickets and route details are available at lakeoswegochamber.com.
