Three Lake Oswego arts nonprofits will share $10,000 in state funding after the Oregon Arts Commission announced $1.3 million in sustaining grants for fiscal year 2027.
Lakewood Theatre Company received the largest local award at $8,000, as first reported by Oregon ArtsWatch. Dance for Parkinson's Oregon and Fool House Art Collective each received $1,000. The commission announced the grants Monday, Oct. 12, splitting the statewide pot among 317 organizations.
Grants range from $1,000 to $18,000 and are divided into two tiers. Group A covers organizations with annual expenses under $150,000. Group B covers those at $150,000 or above. Lakewood Theatre Company fell into Group B, while Dance for Parkinson's Oregon and Fool House Art Collective landed in Group A. The grants help underwrite annual programming.
Lakewood Theatre Company operates out of Lakewood Center for the Arts at 368 S. State St. The center, led by Executive Director Andrew Edwards, said on its website that arts organizations face historic challenges and credited community support for sustaining its mission. The company is a mainstay of Lake Oswego's cultural scene.
Dance for Parkinson's Oregon, also based in Lake Oswego, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides movement and music programming for people living with Parkinson's disease.
