A five-year county road spending plan that could shape projects near Lake Oswego, West Linn and Stafford goes before Clackamas County commissioners Tuesday, Sept. 15.
The policy session, scheduled for 11 a.m. at 2051 Kaen Road #409 in Oregon City, will review the county's Transportation Capital Improvement Program, or CIP, for fiscal years 2026-27 through 2030-31.
The plan determines which road, bike and infrastructure projects get funded across unincorporated Clackamas County. Residents can also attend via Zoom or watch live on the county's YouTube channel.
No vote is scheduled. The session is a discussion and preview of the spending plan. No adoption date has been set.
The county has not released project-level details ahead of the session. A meeting packet is posted on the county's website, but specific project names, locations and dollar amounts will be presented at the meeting.
The capital plan sits within a broader planning effort. The county's Transportation System Plan update, a 20-year roadmap through 2045, has identified more than 400 projects to improve safety, reduce congestion and make travel easier, according to county records.
The county expects $633 million over 20 years to fund many of those projects, though officials have said community needs far exceed available dollars.
"Better understanding community needs can help us to identify and prioritize transportation projects in Clackamas County now and over the next 20 years," project manager Jeff Owen said in a January county news release about the TSP update.
Recent county capital projects in the area offer a sense of scale. A $12.5 million safety project on Stafford Road, which added a roundabout at Childs Road, realigned Johnson Road and widened portions of the corridor, is nearing completion, the Lake Oswego Review reported.
The full corridor between Lake Oswego and West Linn is expected to reopen by Oct. 1. Separately, the county is accepting bids for a $194,000 pedestrian crossing upgrade at SW Pilkington Road and SW Dawn Street in Lake Oswego, with bids due Wednesday, Sept. 16.
