The Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library open a weeklong membership drive Monday, Sept. 14, at the library on Fourth Street.
Membership Week runs through Saturday, Sept. 19. Board members will be on hand to explain how the Friends fund library programming and how residents can join, the Lake Oswego Review reported. Visitors can enter a drawing for gift certificates and books from the BOOKtique, the volunteer-run used bookstore inside the library.
The Friends group awards cash grants to the library twice a year, funded by BOOKtique sales, membership dues and donations, according to the city's library page.
Membership Week also falls during Library Card Sign-up Month. The library is giving free tote bags to new cardholders while supplies last, and existing cardholders can enter to win prizes, according to the library's September page.
