A Molalla man was arrested Sunday after police say he drove the wrong way on two Oregon City highways, striking multiple vehicles, including a police cruiser, before officers stopped him.

Hutch Kimble, 30, was arraigned Monday on charges including fleeing police, three counts of hit-and-run, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

The incident began around 4:14 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at the Metro Transfer Station on Washington Street, where police say Kimble hit a security pole and sideswiped another vehicle while driving his van.

When an Oregon City officer attempted to stop him, Kimble continued driving. Police ended the initial pursuit after he entered the southbound lanes of Oregon 213 while traveling north, according to Oregon City police spokesperson Capt. David Edwins.

Kimble then continued onto Interstate 205, driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes and hitting at least two more vehicles, including an Oregon State Police patrol car.

Officers eventually boxed in the van and arrested Kimble. Police confirmed the crashes caused injuries, but details about the number of people hurt and their conditions have not been released.

The crash forced the closure of southbound I-205 near Clackamas Town Center Sunday afternoon before the freeway reopened later that day.

Kimble was taken to a hospital following his arrest and later booked into the Clackamas County Jail on an outstanding warrant for unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He had previously been sentenced in 2023 to 18 months in prison in two stolen vehicle cases.

No future court date has been announced. Anyone with information can contact Oregon City Police at 503-657-4964.
