Two Lake Oswego restaurants drew the lowest marks in Clackamas County's June 2026 unannounced health inspections, with one pub cited for mouse droppings and another scoring below 80 for food-storage violations.
Both passed; a score of 70 or above earns a passing grade under county rules.
The Dullahan Irish Pub on First Street scored 80 after inspectors documented mouse droppings throughout the downstairs area, along with improper hot and cold holding temperatures and improperly date-marked refrigerated food. Szechuan Kitchen Chinese Restaurant scored below 80, making it the only establishment in Lake Oswego, West Linn, or Wilsonville to dip into the 70s.
Inspectors found cooked cabbage in contact with what they described as soiled linen, raw pork stored above cooking sauces in a walk-in cooler, and food not held at proper temperatures.
Perfect scores
Five Lake Oswego restaurants earned a flawless 100: Domaine Serene Wine Lounge, Lake Theater and Cafe, Mary's Woods – Dunn Kitchen, Oswego Lake Country Club – Main Kitchen, and Oswego Lake Country Club – Murphy's.
In West Linn, Greek Bites earned a perfect 100, and no restaurant scored below 90. Papa Murphy's Mobile Unit came in at 97, while The Willamette Ale & Cider House and Soku Sushi & Noodle each scored 94.
Wilsonville's Wankers Corner Saloon & Cafe also hit 100, with Springridge at Charbonneau rounding out the inspected businesses at 90.
Lake Oswego's middle tier
Several Lake Oswego spots landed in the 90s: Holy Taco (97), Aji Tram Restaurant (97), Bumblebee Flowers & Tea (95), Willamette Valley Vineyards (94), Lake View Tap House (94), Tucci (92), and Bamboo Sushi (90).
Babica Hen Cafe scored 87, cited for a hand sink lacking paper towels, improperly cooled cooked food, and improperly date-marked items. Zaiqa scored 89 after inspectors found raw fish stored above cooked vegetables in a triple-door cooler.
How inspections work
Julie Hamilton, Clackamas County's Environmental Health Program Manager, said inspectors visit each restaurant twice a year without advance notice. The county's seven inspectors cover just under 1,000 restaurants and more than 200 food carts across Clackamas County.
"Closure is extremely rare," Hamilton said in an April 2026 county podcast. "I can count the number of closures on one hand in my 26 years."
Inspectors focus on five high-risk areas: handwashing, working while sick, temperature control, food storage and sanitation, and ensuring food comes from safe sources. Oregon adopted the 2022 FDA Food Code in 2025, and inspectors are educating restaurants on the updated rules.
