From empty storefront to summer treat stop: Nectar Frozen Yogurt Lounge has opened its doors in downtown Lake Oswego.

Portland-based Nectar Frozen Yogurt Lounge opened its third location Tuesday at 333 S. State St., taking over the former Revive Athletics storefront across from Petco.

Owner Adrian Huether said he chose Lake Oswego after seeing his Sellwood shop become a neighborhood gathering place.

The locally owned chain also has locations in Sellwood and Northeast Portland. Like those stores, the new shop offers self-serve frozen yogurt with a variety of toppings and will employ local students over the summer.

The opening adds another locally owned business to South State Street as downtown Lake Oswego continues to welcome new retailers and restaurants.
